I am doing this work because I am passionate about advocating for education. As a refugee from Kakuma Refugee Camp, I understand firsthand the importance and power of education and the barriers we have to overcome as refugee girls. It was through education that I secured a scholarship to study in Canada, which changed my life. This experience has instilled in me the passion to make education opportunities accessible to my fellow refugee girls. In my position as treasurer, I will use my experience in finance to not only manage the organization's resources effectively but also support the team in making strategic financial decisions that maximize Her Kitaab's impact, ensuring more girls gain access to educational opportunities.
